Charlotte Tilbury Magic Foundation Review

charlotte magic foundation

I’m sure by now you’ll have heard of the Charlotte Tilbury Magic Foundation, a product offering ‘flawless, poreless long lasting coverage’. I’ve had this now for a few months so thought I’d pop up a review and give you my thoughts.

Benefits.

Some of the benefits of this foundation include collagen boosting properties, vitamin C, concentrated mushroom extract, SPF and also hyaluronic spheres which are meant to plump up the skin. Now I haven’t yet seen any of the long term benefits that this foundation promises but in terms of day to day wear, I really like it, a lot.

What I like the most about this foundation is the coverage and also how well it wears throughout the day. Normally I’ll lose coverage around my t zone and chin first and then the rest can normally disappear too. This product however, applied in the right way can last on my face for hours with no need of a touch up, so a thumbs up from me.

Application.

In terms of application, I like to apply it with my Zoeva petit stippling brush or my beauty blender, it just depends on how much coverage I’m wanting. I find it blends really nicely and I’m able to build up as much coverage as I need – a little can go a long way.

The only issue I have with this foundation is that if I don’t use a really hydrating moisturiser underneath then it can be quite drying and I find it doesn’t wear that well on my skin. When I had it applied in store, they used the magic cream underneath which paired with this foundation was so beautiful, that combination really was magic and the best my make up has ever applied – it also lasted all day long, and I mean all day long. However I don’t have that much money to spend on one cream so I’ll be trying to find a more affordable alternative for that.

Would I recommend this?

Yes although I would really recommend getting matched, I don’t live anywhere near a counter (sad times but probably a good thing for my bank account) so I waited until I was able to get myself matched. Normally I’d just choose one of the two palest shades but they actually matched me to a 3 and its a great colour.

Would I buy this again?

Yes! It’s a great foundation, I tend to save it for days when I need my make up to last a long time or evenings out ect but this is one of my favourite foundations. Coming in at £29.50 it’s not a bad price for a high end foundation and as I mentioned before, a little can go a long way so worth checking out if you haven’t already!
